I once took part in a match held by a TV show. In order to win a prize, I practiced my singing skills everyday and my parents both spared no efforts to help me. As the College Entrance Examination was around the corner, our teachers put
forward the advice that students spare some time to have a basketball match to release stress.
With teachers and students cheering around the court, the players were, somehow, in tension. Upon getting the ball, the players were chasing each other to score for themselves. All of a sudden, one player of our class tripped over and fell down,
breaking his knee. It was such a great pain as to make him hard to get up. However, another player came and gave him a hand, encouraging him. Finally the exciting match ended up with a tie, about which all of us felt pleased. Nobody is the winner.
On a personal note, I hold the view that we should not think the winning position so important that we get it by 不择手段), or we will fall into abyss of chasing winner. Therefore, the result concerning who is the winner or loser doesn’t matterr. It was the touching help received from each other that is really of great importance.

losers. However, as for me, we can be winners even if we lose the match in that there are something more significant than the result.
Last year, my best friend along with me participated in a running game. We

match. Too often, we can’t decide the result, but it is the process that we participants can enjoy exactly.
I once took part in a speech contest, which I viewed very important. Devoted to the preparation, I watched various famous videos and spoke in front of the whole
class several times. However, I finally didn’t become the winner. But I never thought of myself as a loser, for I did put my heart into it and the result was sort of less important. Instead, the process was what I really enjoyed.

The true winner
Last week, our school held a basketball match against another school. Near the end of the match, they only had an edge over us. When our captain got the ball, one of them pretended to be knocked into by our captain. Our captain tried to help him up and the match was over. They won. Although we lost the game, we were all happy in that we went all out.
From this match I come to the conclusion that being a winner doesn’t mean gaining while a loser doesn’t mean losing everything. What really counts is the spirit, not the result. As long as we try our best, there is no need in regretting. In reality, a true lose is even more precious than a false winner. Had it not been for that match, I couldn’t have learnt the importance of spirit.
To sum up, a true winner is to a match what water to fish. It is not the result but the process that matters. Life without spirit is like sailing without compasses, so be a true winner and you will find its importance.
