1988年，徐新从南京大学外语系毕业，2005年创立了今日资本集团，曾主导和参与了对网易、中华英才网、京东商城、大众点评网、赶集网等公司的投资。她所投资企业家中，已有4位成为福布斯前百名富豪。
2014年南京大学的毕业典礼上，徐新作为校友出席了学弟学妹的典礼并发表致辞，讲述自己人生路上的三次关键抉择，并分享了人生经历的几点心得。
经过开头的艰难，今日资本终于茁壮成长，徐新也成为“中国十大最佳创业投资人”，而激情、专注和榜样是她送给年轻人的三个“成功锦囊”。
以下为徐新在南京大学2014毕业典礼上的致辞：
我是一个普普通通的南大女生，今天我有幸能够站在这里，跟大家分享我的故事，是因为在我的人生道路上，做对了几次关键的选择。我们的人生是由一系列重大的选择组成的，我们的选择决定了我们的人生！
记得我的第一次重大的选择是，初中毕业的时候，那时候我在厂办学校，我们每年高考升学率都是零，当时初中毕业一共有三个选择：一个是去读技校，一个是去考中专，还有就去考重点高中。 那时我们一个班50个人，我的排名大概是25名左右，其实是不大可能考上重点高中的。
跟我一起长大的三个小姐妹都报名去读技校，我妈妈也说―你为什么不去技校啊？一个月有16块5的工资还包分配嘞！―当时我也不知道是中了哪个邪，反正我就坚持我要考重点高中。
当时我爸爸挺支持我的，找了家教给我开小灶补课，很快就开始补上来了，跟我一起补课的邻居没有我学的好，我就尝到甜头更来劲了，成绩提高很快，居然考上了重点高中—— 南开中学。
当时跟我一起长大的三个小姐妹，其实都很聪明很能干，只是她们都选择去读技校，后来当了工人，没有考大学，人生的分水岭就从初中毕业的那次选择开始的。
我的第二次重大的选择是在中国银行，南京大学毕业以后，我被分配到中国银行，做柜台营业员，干的是非常简单的 ―登记、复印、盖章‖三步曲。
但是我并没有因此气馁，照样每天特别认真地工作，能出彩的地方，我都出彩了，银行知识大奖赛拿个第一啊，当个三八红旗手啊，当个团支部书记啊，这样干了三年后，我感觉荣誉已经都有了，可我却没有在进步。
对这种状态很不满意，那时我每天骑车上班经过右安门立交桥，那个桥修了很久，我就在心里暗暗发誓，在桥修好之前，我的生活一定要有变化。
可能是因为这种上进心和出色的表现，机会果真就来找我了：中国政府和英国政府联合帮助中国培养英国注册会计师，中国银行就为我争取到了一个名额，去参加入学考试。
我是学英文的，却要跟学会计的硕士、博士一起考会计，当时我根本不懂会计，我就把整个一本书给背下来了，我记得考试前一天突然感到脑子一片空白，死记硬背的东西我都忘记了，吓得我大哭一场。 我不懂会计但懂英文，那些会计懂会计不懂英文，但是那次考试的卷子是英语的，结果我稀里糊涂考了个名列前茅，直接被人送到香港的普华会计师事务所培训三年，考上了英国注册会计师，这也是我人生中一次非常重大转折。
我在想，要不是我一直有上进心，又竞选团支部书记、又争当三八红旗手，有试必考，中国银行会把机会给我吗？
1992年，我有幸去了香港普华工作，刚到香港，不会讲广东话（唔识听，唔识讲），也不太懂会计，都没有人点我的钟要我上项目。
我们那时候每个小时干了什么都要填时间表的，每天下班看着我那张空白的时间表，感到很无助也很没用。
我经常坐在大房子里，透明的玻璃，别的同事都一一被点钟点走了，就我呆在那儿，没人点钟，心里压力特别大。
后来，我就急了，找到日本项目经理，我跟他说：―我不会讲广东话，你的日本客户也不讲广东话，我们就讲英语呗‖，这样我就慢慢有了项目做，从此我就有了填得满满的时间表了。
在普华工作的三年，是我进步最大的三年，我学会了工作不仅要努力，那是要拼命的，老板交给的活儿没干完是不可以睡觉的。那三年我利用业余时间，拼命复习考试，三年考完了18门课，通过英国注册会计师考试，终于赶上了香港同事。
我的第三次重大的选择是，从投资中华英才网到创立今日资本。2009年，我投了中华英才网，当上董事长，本来我和老公两个人都是bankers，日子过的很潇洒，周末打打高尔夫、看看电影，每年到欧洲度假2次。
可是自从创业以后，我们俩每个周末都在工作，两个人经常相对无语，他担心他的公司，我担心我的公司，都是钱快烧光了发不出工资，好像头上悬了一把剑，随时都会掉下来，心里压力很大。
当你要把家里的存款拿出来给几百号员工发工资时，心里是有点慌的。创业者最大的压力就是，所有的问题到你这都要有答案，其实有时候你并不知道答案在哪里。可你还要硬着头皮给员工说面包会有的，牛奶会有的，一切都会有的。
所以我一直觉得创业者是世界上最勇敢的人，也是我最尊敬的人，因为失败是必然的，成功是偶然的。他们一定是有vision（眼界）的人，他们能看到别人看不到的东西，他们一定是内心强大的人，因为他们能承受别人承受不了的压力。
他们也是一群有梦想的人，不为名不为利，为的是passion to win（渴望成功）的成就感，他们是改变世界的人！我的工作就是每天跟这样的创业者打交道，所以我非常开心，每天都踏着舞步去上班，每天都在学习在进步，我找到了我的passion，那就是投资！
从我的成长经历，我想给大家分享的三点心得：
第一、你要有Passion To Win。
你要有激情、你要想赢。你要找到一份你喜欢的工作、你热爱的工作。人的一生很漫长，工作时间也很长，如果每天早晨爬起来，都不想去工作的话，那你一定过的不开心，那么你就该去寻找一份能让你喜欢的工作。
有的同学说我也不知道我喜欢的工作是什么，那你就应该keep looking，继续寻找，你的灵感可以来自大量的阅读，特别是人物传记；结交聪明的人，有阅历的人，经常与他们聊天；你也可以大胆尝试不同的东西，看你是否喜欢。
总之，只要你每天都在学习，每天都在进步，相信有一天量变到质变，你就会心中一亮，找到感觉，那就是你热爱的工作。
第二、你要 focus，你要聚焦，要积累一万个小时。
人的智商差别不是很大的，超人的智慧和成就来自于专注。每个成功人士都是在他的行业专注的干了很多年，积累了一万个小时。
一万个小时什么概念呢？那就是，每天坚持做一件事，每天4小时，一星期5天，坚持10年就是一万个小时。
我每天大概工作14个小时，做了20 年，已经积累了三万个小时。如果说我的投资有些小小成就的话，那是因为我积累了三万个小时，我想我可以干到80岁，还可以再来三万个小时！
比尔·盖茨和巴菲特是好朋友，有一次比尔盖茨的父亲让他们俩用一个关键词来描述他们成功的最主要的原因，打开他们俩的纸条，上面写着是同一个词：Focus – 那就是专注！
第三、你最好能找到人生的榜样–role model。
我的榜样就是巴菲特，我读巴菲特的书和他写给股东的信就像读圣经一样，是每天必看的。读他的书，就像跟老朋友聊天一样，英雄所见略同。
巴菲特每天阅读5小时，跟聪明人谈话2小时，84岁的巴菲特每天都在工作，他和他投资的创业者变成终身的朋友，他很享受他的工作，每天过的很开心，这就是我想要的生活。
榜样的力量是巨大的，他让你看清前方的路，让你不再害怕孤独，让你心无旁骛，让你每天都在进步。 记得在南大读书的时候，有一位很酷的黑人女老师，她是教我们黑人文学的老师，她叫Donald。 她第一天走进我们的教室，就在黑板上写了几句话，那是我从来没听过的话，也是至今对我震撼最大的一番话。
今天，我也想把她说过的话送给你们：―You are unique. You are a marvel. In the past five hundred years, there has been no person like you; And in the next five hundred years, there will be no person like you. ‖—— 你是独一无二的，你是生命的奇迹，在过去的500年里，从来没有一个人像你一样，在未来的500年里，也没有一个人像你一样！

目标：掌握句子的10大词类。
一：英语有多少词类？十大词类。 它们分别是： book, water, computer n.名词
I, you, his, ours, what, whopron. 代词 come, write, bringv. 动词 . clear, happy, surprised,adj. 形容词 . here, today, happily adv. 副词 . four, sixty, fourth, ninth, num. 数词 . on, over, above, from prep. 介词. and, on, when,asconj. 连词 . a, an, the art. 冠词. oh, ouch, dear .int. 感叹词。

在英语的10大词类中，使用频率最高的是名次，代词， 动词， 形容词和副词。其次是数词，介词， 连词，冠词等，它们在句中各司其职。 巧记英语十大词类：

三．词类使用中的10种常见错误
1. 把当 爱美之心人皆有之
误：Everybody likes beautiful.
正： Everybody likes beauty.
分析：动词之后接 名词做宾语，而beautiful 为 形容词 。 2.把 当 。
随着科技的发展，我们生活的越来越好
误：With the develop of science and technology, we live better and better.
正：With the development of science and technology, we live better and better. 分析：with 为 介词词，之后接 名词 作宾语。而develop 是 动词 。 3. 把 当。 别害怕，你妈妈就在你身边
误：Don’t afraid. Your mother is beside you. 正：Don't be afraid. Your mother is beside you.
分析：don’t 之后接动词 原形 ，而afraid 是 形容词 。 4. 把 随着时间的推移，我们学得越来越多
误：With time goes on, we have learned more and more. 正：As time goes on, we have learned more and more.
分析：with是介词 ，其后接单词 或 短语；as是 连词 ，后面接 句子 。
5. 把 当 操场上大约有700个学生
误：There are about seven hundreds students on the sports ground. 正：There are about seven hundred students on the sports ground.
