As a sincere candidate from China, I would like to beg you for a precious opportunity to go further academic study at your esteemed high school this fall. Seeing the final deadline April 10, 2015 approaching up, I wish I could come out of waiting list and become a member of your honorable school community. To be honest, I had never been aware of the importance of choosing a school suitable for me before I was transferred to Keystone Academy Beijing from Beijing International Bilingual Academy (BIBA). By my graduation in Grade 8, I could have choices of applying for studying at an American high school. In fact, I chose to apply for studying at Keystone Academy Beijing instead of studying in America, because my parents told me the academy possessed the educational pattern similar to American education system and its core management team originated from American top boarding schools; in addition, my parents thought it would be better for me to study in China than to engage in my academics in America after they considered the educational system in Keystone Academy Beijing as well as my age. As a result, I applied to Keystone Academy Beijing for further academic study. In 2014, I got the acceptance letter from the academy by virtue of my excellent performance in academic study. What s more, I was awarded the first Founder Scholarship at Keystone Academy Beijing. At the initial stage for me to study in the academy, I seemed a little bit inactive in getting involvement with some intramural activities under the bad effect of my digestive discomfort that started from my summer traveling in 2014. Even if I got an upset stomach, I still did my best to conquer the pain resulted from the digestive discomfort. Although all the students in the academy are not grouped according to their respective academic ability, I have kept communicating with my teachers and classmates about increasing the academic difficulty properly. No matter whether I m in class or not, I often do what I can to help my classmates improve their academic in hope that they could catch up with me; however, they don t think I offer them help but show off myself. As a result, what I can do is to hide in the corner and keep silent. Due to my relatively inactive classroom participation, my teachers had a conversation with me. Actually, I have never lost the heart of getting ready to help others. I just want to protect myself from others misunderstanding by keeping silent. Knowing my desire for higher academic level can t be met within short period, my parents and I decided to apply for studying in America. I was born in a family full of happiness, equality and democracy. Since I was 10 years old, I have been getting involved in all kinds of volunteer activities under my parents subtle influence. Owing to my parents conscientious guidance, I have learned to become a person, who knows thanksgiving, gets on well with others and takes responsibility as a world citizenship. Since I was in Grade 1, my parents have been putting high investment into my education. My excellent performance in academic study and outstanding interpersonal relationship in BIBA can been tracked through my portfolio. Although I have got some unhappy experience in Keystone Academy Beijing, I have been sparing no effort to further improve myself. Aside from the first dormitory head I was elected, I also gained excellent performance in Beijing 21th Cup English Speech Final and National 21thCup English Speech Final. In addition, I have got impressive performance in intramural swimming, squash and soccer sports events. Mr. Malcolm Mckenzie as my current principal will give another classmate of mine and me an 80-minute class about British and American Poetry as long as he has free time on Friday afternoons. As a learner, I m very appreciated my experience in Keystone Academy Beijing; because this significant experience has taught me the true meaning of making constant effort to reflect my personal values and win others recognitions with a persevering mind to face every disadvantageous situation. Recently, I have been engaging in a 10-day volunteer service in Nepal. Knowing it will be April 10 really soon, I expect to be admitted to your honorable school; because my parents and I are sure that my choice of applying for studying at your esteemed high school is more rational. At the same time, I firmly believe I will never live up to your favorable admission decision on me; because I m willing to strive to be an outstanding member of your honorable school community. SAT目前在中国尚未普及，只有少数地区设有考点，对于国内忙于高考的中学生来说，要考取1800分以上的良好成绩是需要花费一定精力的。假如SAT成绩不好被记录在案，反可能影响日后的申请。除了考出良好的SAT成...自2005年春季以来，在美国留学政策的大幅度放宽和美国政府、使领馆积极推动下，赴美留学成为中国家长和学生最关心和关注的话题……
1.SAT高分
SAT是美国高中生进入美国大学需要参加的考试，但国内学生想通过参加这些考试来申请美国名校，并不是一件轻松的事。
据悉，目前New SAT I包括数学、英语和写作各800分，满分为2400分。SAT考试内容比较多，如SAT I，考试总共是3小时45分钟，考试内容涵盖数学、英语、写作三方面，题量大，参加者除了要熟练掌握各专业英语词汇外，还要重点理解和掌握解题技巧及方法，尤其是写作方面难度较高。
其次SAT在评分上也与国内有很大的区别。以数学为例，数学的考试是60分钟，55道题。实际上要求考生一分钟答对一道题，答对一道题你得一分，如果全部答对，55分，经过平均的换算你的数学就是800分。但是你答错一道题，要倒扣三分，这对学生做题的精确度要求相当高。
2. 精力用到语言提高上

除了考出良好的SAT成绩外，学生应该把精力投入到语言能力的提高上，多参加一些社会实践活动，发展特长兴趣，增加申请竞争优势。
3. 尽早适应美国的教育
美国大学录取时，考试成绩只是其评定条件之一，学校还要结合学生的特长、学术能力、面试等情况来决定是否录取及发放奖学金。
对于有意进入美国TOP前50名校的国内中学生，专家建议在明确目标后，须早作打算。选择直接入读美国高中，是进入美国名校的最佳捷径。
4. 申请名校时，还要掌握6大关键：
一、高中在校学习成绩要优秀。
二、参加必要的外语考试。要想进入美国名校，托福、雅思成绩是不可少的（部分院校对暂无语言成绩的优秀学生也会予以考虑）。
三、课外实践表现要好。也就是个人综合能力和素质，这是美国名校最为看重的一点。比如：出版过小说作品，文体技能突出，参加过科学实验的操作，设计出一些模型，参加大型竞赛并获奖等等。
四、文章及自荐信抓住展现自己独特个性的良机。美国名校往往要求申请学生提供两篇文章和一封自荐信。文章的内容和题材没有限制，但却是展现自我水平的一个极佳途径；自荐信则要完整而真实地推销自己。
五、写推荐信的人要了解自己。申请表另一重要内容，就是要求有老师的推荐信，这有时是成败的关键。推荐信的好坏，主要看两因素：一是老师本身的水平如何，二是你与老师的熟悉程度如何。推荐者一定要对申请人有较深入的了解，与申请人的学习、生活密切相关的人。

简练、突出的个人简历，合理、清晰的读书计划，学生在中国的学习成绩单这几项材料，每一项的重要性都不在TOEFL、GRE与GMAT成绩之下。因此，不要忽视这些 软 材料，准备上要多花心思，注意突出个人优势，以免栽跟头。
此外，选择奖学金设置比例高的学校，也是获取奖学金的关键因素。据了解，目前在留学市场上，美国奖学金项目因其院校设置了丰富、高额的奖学金，只要学生评估合格，都能申请到奖学金，因而受到了广大学生的欢迎。
总之，早作准备，多获取相关院校的信息，多与留学专家交流，这样学生的被录取几率将能大大提高。
