英语中考命题中，时态考查历来是重要内容。近年来，时态的考查已由原来的提供典型的时间状语直接考查改为通过情境考查。这种命题方法，更能够考查学生对各特别时态的本质认识，从而能灵活地运用各种时态。笔者现对近两年各地中考中有关时态考题做一个归纳与总结，以期对同学们中考复习有所帮助。
一、 一般现在时
【中考真题】
1. （2010•重庆）If you_____to the 2010 Shang Expo next month, I will go with you.

2. （2010•广东）The Greens will visit Hainan as soon as they _____to China.
A. comes B. come

解析 在if引导的条件状语从句和when, until as soon as, after, before等引导的时间状语从句中,从句部分用一般现在时表示一般将来时。第1题为if引导的条件状语从句，第2题为as soon as引导的时间状语从句，两者均应使用一般现在时。故分别选A与B。
二、 一般过去时

解析 这两题中，均无一般过去时的时间状语。需要根据语境来推测。第3题中，上句中提醒对方这是一个无烟室。下句中说说人想表达“（原来）没有看到”，用一般过去时，故选B；第4题中，上句告诉对方自己得到了一张今晚篮球比赛的，下句问你是“如何得到的？”“得到”的动作发生在过去，用一般过去时，故选B。
三、 现在进行时
