教师要善于引导学生【要善于捕捉时机 引导学生用英语】

  【案例背景】《国家英语课程标准》(实验稿)强调英语课程“从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径。”其中,任务型教学(Task?based approach)就是以具体的任务为学习动力或动机,以完成任务的过程为学习过程,以展示任务成果的方式(而不是以测试的分数)来体现教学的成就。简单地说任务就是做事,就是运用英语做事。学生在做事的过程中,才会真正有所收获,甚至会迸发出心灵的火花。
  【案例陈述】早上7点左右,按常理,学生应在教室里读读背背英语或语文,可这一天,当我走进教室却发现很多学生在互相打闹、嬉戏,没有几个孩子是在认真地利用这清早的好时光;而且我还发现,虽然那时已经非常亮了,可室内日光灯却还开着,一定是这群捣蛋鬼清晨早读后忘记关掉了。我当时非常生气,真想狠狠地骂他们一顿。但转念一想:他们毕竟还是孩子,光批评未必能起大的作用。于是,我平了平气说:
  I?m sure the classroom is bright. Do you think I should keep the lights on or turn them off?
  学生都表示应该关灯。我在黑板上写了To save the energy 几个词,并补充说: We should try to save the energy. I don?t mind if you keep the lights on
  when the room is dark. Sometimes we need electricity to make our room
  bright, but not today. Maybe we can use the electricity to watch TV now.
  学生本来也是在等着挨训的,所以刚听到我说的话还有点将信将疑的样子。我让负责的同学打开电视,画面上立即显示出人们在四川抗震救灾的场面来。经过三十分钟的观看,一个个动人的场面,一例例感人的事迹,使学生脸上的笑意逐渐消失,取而代之的是满脸的凝重。我本来是想让他们抽出点时间了解一下时事,促进他们把自己与灾区的学生作个对比,从而好好把握拥有的好时机,好好学习。可是见此情景,我忽然心中闪现出一种新的想法:在这举国同悲的时候,何不借此情此景,让学生畅谈一下他们的所见所闻,并让他们讨论一下该如何去帮助灾区的人民,最后实现由他们自己去感受、去认识、去评价自己心目中的英雄。这样就既能教育他们,促使他们去使用英语,而且还可以借此切入第九模块的话题:HEROES。于是,我临时决定暂时停止第八模块关于节假日活动的教学。
  上课了,在彼此问候以后,我便直奔话题:
  T: These days, what do you hear the most? What do you talk about the most? What are you the most interested in?
  Ss: 四川的地震!哦,死了很多人。很多解放军和武警,还有消防员都去救他们了!(话匣一打开,便有一种不可遏制的趋势,)我赶忙说:
  T: Yes! There was a terrible earthquake in Sichuan Province.
  Then, can you try to describe the earthquake?这个话题似乎帮他们找到了宣泄的渠道,同学们便七嘴八舌纷纷把自己了解到的信息都表达了出来:
  S1: Many people have lost their lives. Many people are crying.
  S2: True! Many children can?t find their parents, and many parents can?t find their children. It is terrible!
  S3: The earthquake is very bad. It is 7?8 degrees.
  S4: No! It says in the newspaper the degree of the earthquake is 8.0 degrees.
  Many houses are broken!
  S5: Not only those, many other buildings, and roads, bridges are destroyed.
  S6: I see many soldiers come and save them. Some 志愿者(volunteers) also come to help them.
  S7: Oh! Many students and teachers died in the earthquake. Many students
  can?t go to school now. Their schools are broken.
  S8: They haven?t any food to eat or any clean water to drink.
  S9: I think those children are too poor.
  学生聊起来似乎显得有点激动。有的竟因为急着要表达自己的观点而变得面红耳赤;有的女同学甚至默默地流下眼泪。
  听到学生的这些表白,我觉得很欣慰,学生拥有主动去帮助别人的意识。那他们是否还“身在福中不知福”呢?我觉得有必要让他们继续讨论一下:自己在这么好的环境里坐着的时候,是否有什么感想,有什么看法。
  T: OK. If the people in the earthquake?stricken area hear what you say, they must be happy. They will know they are not lonely. We are all getting ready to help them. Now, what do you think of the people in the earthquake?stricken area? Compare with them, what do you think of yourselves? What do you think you should do?
  学生听到了我的问题后似乎明白我绕这么大的圈子的目的了,一个个都低下了头。我也不着急说,干脆让他们反思一下。不久,便有一个女同学举手站起来说:
  S10: I think we must work hard. When I grow up ,I want to be 地震专家(an earthquake expert). Then I can tell them earlier and they can leave the dangerous place.
  T: Good idea. We need the experts badly. I hope that your dream can come true.
  接着,陆陆续续又有同学发言.
  S11: I think all the people in the earthquake?stricken area are brave. I have to learn from them.
  S12: I should work hard. I won?t spend so much time playing.
  S13: The people in the earthquake?stricken area are great, but I?m too lazy.
  45分钟就这样在同学们激昂的言谈声中结束,同学们依然热情高涨,情绪激烈,从他们的表情中看出他们已多出了一个信念:决心。
  【反思】这一节课里,尽管我未能按教研计划完成任务,但同学们却以前所未有的热情畅所欲言,描述出了他们的见闻,也讲出了他们自己的心声。估计一节课下来,他们的收获决不会低于我们的期望。看来要使学生产生学习动力,光讲大道理、明确学习目的仍然是不够的,教师还必须把握住每一个机会,使自己的课生动有趣;捕捉每一个灵感,逮住学生的灵魂,吸引学生,让学生保持旺盛的学习兴趣,引导学生运用所掌握的知识表达自己的需要和情感。
  要教好新教材必须更新观念,改进教学方法才能保证教学质量。吕淑湘先生说过:“成功的教师之所以成功,是因为把课教‘活’了。”而追求灵活开放也是《新标准》的基本理念之一。因此我们一定要改变原来封闭式的、沉闷的课堂教学,采用启发式,实行生动活泼的开放式的课堂教学,激发学生的学习兴趣,调动他们的学习内动力。只有当学生真正有了学习的兴趣,他们才能自觉地去学,就比如这节课中,很多的生词都是学生自己去查找出来的。新课程倡导民主、开放、科学的课程理念。在英语课教学中,创设多种教学活动情景可以促进学生勤于思考,敢于质疑,善于探索,富于联想,勇于创新,从而达到教学目的。英语活动课以学生动手、动脑为主,努力为学生创设各种情景,让学生能自主参与,积极思索。在英语活动课中,通过各种各样的活动,使学生在学习基础知识的同时,创新思维也得到锻炼、发展。
