破解复合句式 提高阅读水平 复合句式

  高考中阅读理解占的篇幅最大,另外它的分值最高,占了40分,重要性不言而喻。阅读理解题更多的考察学生的理解力和对篇章的把握,是高考各个题型中的难点。面对高考阅读理解题,有些学生有一定的词汇量,在理解文章方面还是会出现各种问题,此题很令人望而生畏。就此,笔者以2008年全国高考卷(?)为例,从复合句的分析把握入手,巧妙破解长句,克敌制胜,给读者提几点建议。
  
  一、巧解转折连词
  
  在阅读中,转折连词透露给读者重要的信息,读者需要抓住转折之后的内容,巧解作者意图。转折连词的出现,暗示篇章内容的峰回路转。转折连词后面的内容,往往是作者重点突出的内容,出题者经常考察读者对转折连词之后的篇章理解,所以一定要抓住连词这一重要信息。例如2008全国卷A篇阅读。
  41.What did Mrs.Thompson do on the first day of school?
  A.She made Teddy feel ashamed.
  B.She asked the children to play with Teddy.
  C.She changed Teddy’s seat to the front row.
  D.She told the class something untrue about herself.
  答案为D,文章中相关信息为She told the children on the first day that she loved them all the same.But that was a lie.语篇理解的关键在于对转折连词“but”的把握,But that was a lie 直接暗示出文章答案。

  51.What do the underline words “net gain” in Paragraph 5 mean?
  A.final increase B.big advantage
  C.large shareD.total saving
  答案为A文章中相关信息为One of her opponents(对手) says,“During Governor Smith’s term,the state lost one million jobs!” that’s true.However,and honest statement would have been,“During Governor Smith’s term,the state had a net gain of two million jobs.” 正是转折连词 however 暗示了反对者所说是“half?truth”,重点在于however后的信息,反对者遗漏重要信息,只强调了失去100万工作,没提及创作了200个就业岗位。
  
  二、分解长句迅速找出主句
  
  在阅读中,不管句子有多长,多难理解,它一定会有主句,找到了主句,就有了复合句的骨架,读者就读懂了作者的主要意图。学生应迅速把握住主句,抓住主次,理清头脑。
  例2008年全国卷
  45.The Queen’s broadcasts were chosen for the study mainly because______ .
  A.she has been Queen for many years
  B.she has a less upper?class accent now
  C.her speeches are familiar to many people
  D.her speeches have been recorded for 50 years
  揭示答案的篇章信息为Jonathan Harrington,a professor at Germany’s University of Munich,wanted to discover whether accent (口音) changers recorded over the past half century would take place within one person.“As far as I know,there just is nobody else for whom there is this sort of broadcast records,” 关键句的主句为there just is nobody else 而for whom there is this sort of broadcast records 进一步解释主句内容,从而这道题迎刃而解。
  
  三、精通各种从句,完善主句信息
  
  从高中阶段的语法考虑,各种从句是要求学生熟练掌握的重点,这些从句在阅读中出现的频率很高,而且给作者提供的信息更加具体,熟练掌握这些从句对阅读也是一个较大的提高。
  例如:2008年全国卷D篇
  54.What was used in the experiment to cause coughing?
  A.Theobromine. B.Codeine.
  C.Capsaicin.D.Placebo.
  答案为C揭示答案的信息为The researchers then measured levels of capsaicin,which is used in research to cause coughing and as a sign of how well the medicine are stopping coughs.解题的关键在于定语从句进一步解释了Capsaicin 的作用被用来在研究中导致咳嗽。
  总之,阅读理解重要的基石是对句法结构的熟练掌握,需要读者在一定单词量的基础上灵活掌握这些句型和句式,注意连词背后的重要信息,在高考中冷静应对,迅速抓中重点信息,主次分明,克敌制胜。
